As a natural practitioner I have worked with literally dozens of women who have become very ill since getting breast implant surgery. I had implants myself for over 11 years and struggled with my health. A few of the symptoms of breast implant illness include chronic fatigue, brain fog/memory loss, muscle pain/weakness, difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, vertigo, headaches, etc. Some women are diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune issues and MS.
Saline and Silicone implants are made up of a long list of toxins and heavy metals. Research has shown that mold thrives in a heavy metal environment. The body forms a capsule around the implant that creates the perfect warm location for mold to grow. The symptoms that women are experiencing with implants are very closely related to the symptoms of mold poisoning.
Another piece of this puzzle came to my attention when I was researching why so many of my clients were having breathing
problems and a strange choking feeling in their throat. Dr. Shoemaker of Surviving Mold writes: “Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide is a neuroregulator hormone with receptors in the hypothalamus. This hormone regulates pulmonary artery pressures and inflammatory response throughout the body. Low VIP levels are almost always present in mold patients. THIS LEADS TO UNUSUAL SHORTNESS OF BREATH! VIP is also tied to lower esophageal sphincter and can cause inhibition of gastric excretion. Could this lead to the strange choking symptoms and GERD that breast implants are causing?}
Put all of this together and it seems like powerful evidence to me. I actually got well for long periods of time with implants in following Doug’s Kaufmann 1 diet and taking antifungals. However over time implants degrade and the immune system can not keep up with the toxins and mold.
Women I am working with are getting well after explant with Doug’s antifungal plan and uncovering any toxins and heavy metals the implants have left behind. There is hope for breast implant illness!
